Looking for a new appetizer or lunch idea? Try this middle eastern flat bread that will be a crowd pleaser for your party or quick and delicious lunch or even light dinner.
My husband usually goes paddle boarding on Saturday, so I have all morning to myself, drinking coffee, watching “food network ” and snuggling with my dog! My snuggle buddy, Bella:)
I do however make a nice lunch for us on weekends as it the only time I actually have time to make something interesting and take some pictures for my blog. I had some flat bread, some ground turkey and some greens in the fridge, so I came with this idea. First, I sautéd some turkey until browned, then added garlic, onions and ginger and spices like cumin, paprika, cinnamon, ground cloves and turmeric.
Then you spread the turkey mixture on the lavash bread ( but any flat bread will work) and bake it for about 5-8 minutes until slightly crisp, and then I served it with toasted almonds, tangerine segments, some greens and tahini tangerine sauce. I think goat cheese and some pomegranate seeds will be a great addition. I will have to try next time!
Ingredients: Directions: Tangerine Tahini Sauce Pulse all of the ingredients together until smooth in a blender. Use leftovers as a salad dressing or over the grilled veggies.
Middle Eastern Flat Bread with Turkey and Tangerine Tahini Sauce
1/4-inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated
Brush the flatbread very lightly with olive oil and then put a sprinkling of sea salt on before adding other toppings. Scatter the turkey evenly over each flatbread. Bake for about 5-8 minutes, until the flatbread gets slightly crisp.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle the greens over the top of each bread, add tangerine segments, almonds and finish with a little bit of tangerine tahini sauce. Cut into pieces and serve warm.

Pulse all of the ingredients together until smooth in a blender. Use leftovers as a salad dressing or over the grilled veggies.
